Picture this, you are having an awesome discussion at the workplace and then your male colleague says something, who deadens and changes the whole entire work atmosphere. Dude, ”what did you just say”, you think out loud? You have just offended the lady folk in the room. Or you’re just hanging out relaxing with your ‘babe’, she’s happy, smiling and into the conversation until you say something that puts her completely off; she crosses her legs, with a big sigh, looking straight in your eyes with emotional intensity as though she will unleash a big slap on your face and then she just switches off and walks out of the room leaving you all alone!

Has this ever happened to you? What did you do or not do? I think the man who will come to understand who a WOMAN is will become extremely rich. I love them, they are my hardworking, caring, intelligent colleagues at the workplace; they are my creative and passionate sisters with whom we exchange niceties on a daily basis or a stranger that has blown me away to planet MARS because of her beauty, that hard- to- get attitude and something strange and sublime about her; that I would do almost anything to get her phone number and take her out on a date…. She could be the one; Mrs. Kiserema, at that or a good friend for the long haul. Hmm, you never quite understand these things or best these women. I’ve also interacted with them as my supervisors, mentors and leaders; remarkably focused, strict, no non-sense people but with a touch of humility and serenity…. Incredible I must admit; dumbfounded I often feel.

Today’s generation of menfolk don’t understand a single whit about them. I think if I was in the education sector, I would start a class in primary, secondary and even in university level on understanding the dynamics of who a women is and vice versa. The best we got out of high school was on sex education, the human anatomy- and physical education- the world and particularly us ‘men’ need to be taken through an entire discourse on who a WOMAN is, how she thinks, what makes her happy, what makes her sad, how to utilize her abilities to best meet the goals and objectives of the workplace and home?

Once, we recognize the role of understanding both genders in a holistic study away from the purview and tales of planet Hollywood and all other forms of American ‘pop culture’ to a class setting with an invigilator that directs the discussion to form a spirit of synergy; then we are going somewhere as a society. If this can be replicated the world over, you would have less divorces in marriages, fewer cases of rape, fewer prisoners of wars, fewer cases of sexual harassment at the workplace, fewer cases of men opting out of marriage and planning and deciding to settle with one woman with the desire to remain loyal to her! This could just be my crazy Utopian world where everything works? Or am I saying something that could transform our world in a better way than ever before…. a true game changer….maybe… just maybe.

The good word The Holy Bible says, that He created male and female and woman came out of the rib of man, according to the prophetic writings had in Genesis. God, understood more than anyone who SHE was and who HE was in relation to the creation of world; but now in our present world neither seems to understand the other leading to more and more misunderstandings, power struggles at home and the workplace; sadly even spilling over to our churches. We need a serious and sober discussion on this and it needs to be inoculated into the minds and hearts of our dear young children in order to save an entire generation like ours which seems to be very, very lost. Think stronger families, happy marriages, dynamic workplaces and faith filled congregations- that is the good that can come out of our societies once we properly understand HER- WOMAN!
