I like many of you  who have gone to school either formally or informally may agree that there is such a person as an “educated fool”, which means that you are too stuck up on being a graduate that you look down upon someone else who is doing their own business and not on a company’s monthly payroll unlike yourself.

Herein lies the fallacy that education is the only avenue for empowerment and self actualization in life. Often, you will note that the people who are running their own small businesses are individuals who completed their basic education and did not want to wait or struggle to seek employment in a rather saturated job market. They are their own CEO’s and they hire these so-called graduates to manage their books and to make sure their exceed their profit margins. These bosses are living the type of lifestyle they want, driving their dream car, taking their children to the ideal schools that money can buy while you continue seeking your big break in somebody’s company.

Education should allow one to explore another paradigm shift know as opportunistic alignment and forecasting the future. The heart of success in this world is no longer at the whims of employment; it is precisely from self employment. As much as you can, work to establish your own empire on the side, run it it for a few years before you consider leaving the employment world. Then work hard until, you make it a real success that your future posterity will continue to manage. The moment you overcome this barrier, is the culmination of outgrowing and outliving the educated fool’s syndrome.

Think big. Think Apple, Facebook, Samsung. Want to travel to Dubai or Barbados for your dream holiday? You have to change your thinking now to get to the next level of your success. Employment is a good thing, however, self employment is the best thing!

Luckily, you and I are fortunate to be staring 2018 in the face before it slips on too far. Now is the time to determine that you will not become an educated fool. Now is the time to harness your side business whether in farming, retail, electronics or whatever tickles your fancy. Now is the time to put on your CEO glasses, get done away with the lesser ambition of working as a manager or supervisor or the next job title for growth up the career ladder. You can do so much more through investing in your side deals than forever waiting for the next job vacancy within your department or company before you do you! Please start now, start small, here a little, there a little, don’t give up, never surrender. Be your own CEO.
